STARWORKS (2017)
For my final project in Abstract Drawing, I decided to channel my love for the stars into these 6 pieces. In this class I was introduced to Sumi Ink, Transparency paper, and Gouache Paint, all of which I used in these! I brushed the grainy side of the transparency paper with the Sumi ink to create the night sky background, and painted the creatures and nebulas on the other side. I then pasted them onto sketch paper to avoid scratching. Paired with the astronomy course I took during the same semester, these pieces are some of my favorites I have ever made.
